The Legend Begins

Hronmir's axe came swinging down on top of the Goblin's head, splitting him in two as he surged forward into the mob of small, stinky green man-things. A gutteral scream echoed through the cavern as more and more Goblins poured in. Hronmir and his crew had made a mistake and accidentally invaded the Goblin's stronghold whilst delving underneath the Forgotten Tower of Dra'zuul. The Half-Orc looked for his allies and compatriots through the din of the grand melee before him but could not see them but for a few brief moments as the masses surged past. Deflecting blows off of his great-axe and armor, Hronmir heard the barely audible shout of Celestia, his Half-Elf lover gifted in the arcane arts, as she caused some of the Goblin hoard to fall asleep before her. She turned and gave Hronmir a grin seconds before a rough-hewn javelin pierced her head between her eyes. Hronmir's shouts filled the echoing cavern as he plunged through the melee towards Celestia's corpse. He made it half-way, swinging his axe with every step with little green corpses trailing his pursuit, before Hronmir found his own javelin sticking between his shoulder blades before collapsing into a heap.

Days later, Artemis, Captain of the Eladrin Vanguard, discovered the Goblin stronghold much in the same manner as Hronmir, Celestia, and their other fallen compatriots. The heads of these fallen adventurers were displayed proudly on spikes before the newly fortified stronghold. It wasn't long until those five heads were joined by the pointy-eared Vanguard, fallen before the Goblin might.

Legend4ry Dungeons and Dragons is deadly. Much like for the fallen heroes Hronmir, Celestia, and Artemis; death is around every corner. The monsters are deadly and a true threat, traps and other horrors lurk around every corner. Legend4ry is visceral and fast. No hour-long encounters, no waiting. A blade swings and an enemy dies, a javelin is thrown and a hero falls. This is Legend4ry D&D.

Months ago I promised that the Legend4ry Dungeons and Dragons Basic Ruleset would be released, but that was before I became lost in the business of living in Europe and a not stable internet connection. But these are but excuses, and excuses are for the weak. Legend4ry has no time for the weak. This week will be legend, for this week Legend4ry will release in a free, easy to download pdf. As you can see from previous posts, the rules changes have been made, it's just an effort now to compile them all sexy-like for your reading pleasure.

As I talked about on my other blog, these rules have yet to be play-tested and have just been a part of my grand mental scheming. What it boils down to is that these basic rules are essentially a beta test. If something doesn't work, or needs tweaking, I would love to hear about it! In time, once I have a chance to play these myself AND read your tips and tricks and ideas, I will release a Legend4ry D&D Advanced Ruleset updated with the other Essentials-line classes and any needed rules tweaks.

I'm excited to finally launch this product that I've been working on for what feels like ages!

So, until then...
