In addition to that, there are two more contests that he is offering: the first of which being a Gen-Con exclusive raffle and the second being a blog shout out raffle for Amazon (or Drive-Thru RPG) gift certificates.
A note about the AD&D reprints contest is that these OGL room descriptions are supposed to evoke an old-school 1e feel to them, but sans backstory or what have you. I'm tinkering with some ideas in my head currently, but sadly my knowledge of AD&D and its dungeon design is minimal at best.

ReplyDeleteIn terms of the 1e feel, think 4th core. 1e was less about story and more about exploring deep, dark dungeons filled with traps, monsters, and other hazards. Characters had a tendency to die. A lot.
Also, don't forget the winning submission gets the professional treatment, converted into a full-fledged module.
And the "no back story" thing is just to save me some reading. :) A brief intro is okay if needed, but this is really about the rooms and what lies within.
